Identical twins Justin and Johnny Coppolino were born in Trenton, New Jersey. At an early age Justin (Bass/Vocals) and Johnny (Guitar/Vocals) learned to play music together growing up in house full of their father’s guitars. After meeting Alex Zarzycki, a drummer with a skill set and passion for music that matched their own, they formed Still Standing. Performing throughout the Philadelphia alternative/punk scene, they developed a sound that stood out among the crowds.
Still Standing soon established a strong regional fan base and decided it was time to make the move to LA. They began recording with producer Tommy Henriksen (Clear Static) who produced a six song EP followed by an eye-opening tour with Alice Cooper.
The EP caught the ear of songwriter/producer Marti Frederiksen (Aerosmith, Buckcherry.) They hit it off immediately and Marti began co-writing and producing their full-length record, “Black and White.” With Frederiksen’s insight and guidance, their music took a more powerful lyrical, and harmonic direction.
Their fan base grew daily as they toured the US and played venues such as the House of Blues, The Whiskey, and The Viper Room.
In 2009 the band landed a record deal UMG/United Music & Media Group. Still Standing soon released their single
“I Can’t With You” which climbed its way into the top 40 charts of nationwide radio.
